Things are heating up here in the 505, so today we thought we’d cool things off a bit with a little Real Wedding Inspiration in the form of Jessica and Kino! Their wintery Santa Fe wedding was snowy, cozy and oh-so-beautiful, and our dear friends (also known as New Mexico’s favorite wedding photographers!) Matt Blasing Photography were there to capture all the gorgeous moments!
Jessica and Kino both come from family’s in northern New Mexico with strong roots in their communities, so it’s no surprise that they chose to wed at one of the most iconic locations in New Mexico, the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, located in Santa Fe. Just days after Christmas, their date was chosen to ensure a magical, fairy tale like feeling, complete with warm, cozy coats and plenty of soft, pure white snow. Anyone who’s been to Santa Fe at Christmas time knows just how magical the city is, the snow is twinkling, the air smells of piñon wood burtning in fire places, and the red chile is flowing!
Jessica was one of those brides that you can’t help but just fall in love with. While working with her on her custom suite, her graciousness and attention to detail and overall cheerful personality truly won us over!
We just adore all of the love and thoughtfulness that she poured into the details of their big day. Their color palette of navy, burgundy, rose gold and white brought an elegance and romance to the wedding invitations, with a touch of modern styling.
The flowers, by Santa Fe Floral Designer Viva Flora, were a romantic mix of burgundy, reds, blushes, pinks and ivories, set off by sweeping eucalyptus. We still find ourselves obsessed with the mix of her delicate lace dress bodice, paired with the soft, ivory fur bridal jacket!
We weren’t lying when we told you it was a winter wonderland!!! The Basilica is such a stunning example of classic Spanish architecture.
The couple chose to head just down the street for their reception of over 300 guests (!) at The Eldorado Hotel on Santa Fe’s famous historic plaza.
The acrylic sign we designed for the couple was one of the highlights of our planning - white ink on acrylic, with a hand paited rose gold back - it’s a work of art that now hangs in the couple’s home! Their cake, by A Cake Odyssey, was topped with sugared cranberries, which twinkled in the soft lighting of the room (I wonder if they saved us a slice??) And their guest menus printed on navy cardstock with white ink, and escort cards on nude shimmer cardstock completed the look for their day.
To Mr. and Mrs. Hurtado - We love you! Thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing day, and we wish you all the best that this world has to offer you!!!
Stay cool lovelies,
XOXO, Team Funky Olive
